302 Garage Meets (Delaware)

Hey Folks!
My name's Tony and I would like to invite you to come hang out with us.
We're just a group of car enthusiasts, of all ages, that get together every Sunday and talk about cars and stuff. We've been doing it for almost three years now. It started as a 240sx get together, but times have changed, we've evolved, and people bring all different types of cars. Mostly, we all share a love of RWD sport compacts, so we have a lot of Nissan's, Mazda's, and Toyota's in the group, but we're very open minded. On occasion, I'll even show up ridin' my scooter.

We love to talk about rotaries. My old roomate Greg has a beautiful, red '87 Turbo II and my other old roomate Don used to have an FD. However, it was stolen, so now he's got a sick turbo 240sx. My other friend Jon has a pristine S5 convertible. A little over a year ago, I picked up a RX-7 myself.

My "project" is a '88 RX-7 GXL. I bought it off a friend for $800. The body was in great shape, but the engine had a blown rear rotor. Last August I transplanted a junkyard motor into it, but ran into some electrical problems. This project is currently on hold because I just bought a house in October and I'm fixing up the basement. I should be redoing the garage in a month or two, which should get me back on track.

So now that you've gotten to know us, please stop by and hang out. We're less than an hour from Baltimore, Trenton, or Philly. We meet every Sunday (except holidays) at 7:00pm. We all meet in front of Rita's Water Ice and usually B.S. for an hour and then go out to eat.

BTW - Here's the address to Rita's Water Ice:
600 Newark Shopping Ctr
Newark, DE 19711

See you soon!

Memories, yes. But I don't remember apartments all the way down the left side of the mall. So I take it they cleaned up the druggies off the n chapel and now have students (druggies) living there instead?

I graduated in 06. Yeah they put those up in 04, they put up some other ones on elkton that I live in. Those apartments arn't actually on N. Chapel though. the only way to get to them is from the back of that parking lot or off main.

I think they know that we don't cause any problems, plus we're usually only there an hour or two. Unfortunately, it's too common for some kid to see us and of course, he has to impress us by revving his engine, speeding past, and flying around the parking lot. One time a big diesel truck did a standing burnout right in front of us. It's that type of attention that we're not looking for.

Anyway, it's not a "Rice-Fest" or anything, we're just a group of car guys and we'd be thrilled to see you this Sunday.

Mazda6guy,
I joined the SCCA just last year. Sometimes I work weekends, so I haven't made it to Aberdeen or Boeing yet, but I did make it to Novice school at Warminister this year.

Wow, a regular meet that's close to home. I live nearby in Elkton MD, have a nicely restored '89 RX-7 Turbo and a '03 Protege-5 (daily driver). I'll have to pop on over there for one of those meets.

That is so cool to find another fellow SCCA member and autocrosser on here. I will be running with the Chesapeake Porsche club this Sunday @ Ripken. I will try and make it out to talk with you guys this Sunday after the autox.

I want to go to Warminister Sunday. Unfortunately, I have some things to do. Do you have any links to other local auto-x clubs?
