Well I might miss this one even though I dont wanna. Clutch is done it seems. I made it to the Bear Mountain meet barely and now the car isnt going anywhere. Sucks but it is what it is. Hopefully I'm able to get it all sorted out.

Hey amp whats up. I know its not the BEST Location out there, i tried my best to look at alternate locations. My josbite GOVERNORS ISLAND would be great but accessing it is a major issue. So kinda had to figure this out with 1 months time after ETown played me, and the issues with the ferry at my job.

So just give it a shot, im sure you will like this one compared to others we are working on some cool stuff.

hey jay this is looking to be a good event, let me know what i can do to help out and ill try to do what i can.

 

what happened with etown..

 

^^ we agreed on a set price then they put me to talk to someone else and the price was a lot higher than originally discussed. Also i notified them that we would be doing our own car show on rotary powered cars and they wouldnt allow that. We had to do our car show with them and pay their prices to be in the car show. They said we can have one of our guys with them helping them but had no real control of our carshow stuff.

I tried to get it done at bear mountain but theres a lot of red tape you have to go thru when you want to do it at a state facility (company, insurance, etc) which i dont have.

Island was to be honest a back up location, and thats what we have. They didnt require me to have insurance (only the vendors). The list of the DO's and DONT that island has stated is posted in this thread post # 25.

Ya know im trying my best to set something up for us and i can only do so much. We all have our responsibilities (work, life, family, etc) and its a lot of work when your trying to make something better so that when you get compared to the previous event ppl say , "WOW this is totally different".

So all i can say is we are trying.

 

I'm cool with it... I might show up. Car might be down for mods that week. Dunno.

i dont know why people are complaining....the price is set and is inexpensive so there will be no vosko'ing going on.....the show is set along with judges for several categories.....there are vendors in the process of being procured and there is also some nice prizes it seems that are coming to fruition....this is not a fly by night lets make some cash throw together like they did last year.....a few of us from the other rotory world have been recruited to help organize and make this event what it should be and should have been.....im sure many of you know me personally and know im a stand up guy....i have been trying my best behind the scenes to get this up and running.....lets quit bitching, be a strong community and support the hell out of this!!

im merely inquiring why this is back to island considering all the complaints generated against the previous event about the location..
and correct me if im wrong.. but there doesnt seems to be a difference in venue from the description as well...

 

The date change really screwed the plans for most of us guys here. . . . . so Club RX Quebec members will pass on this year’s event.

i wasnt referring to any one in particular amp....you know me better than that.....i have just heard allot of stuff and wanted to put it out there....it was moved to island because we wanted to make it easy on every one's pocket for one, easy on the plans for another and it was a known spot.....its not perfect because of the grass i know but it is still a decent place to be....its also going to be our event and we arent piggy backing on anything else

Why not come down for Summer Slam, that's the same date your guys were planning on? Then there's Pan American, rotary vs piston. Both of these are 2 days events and will have a LOT of rotary members there too. Plus you will see some hard core rotary drag racing.
