im not trying to make money for me at the event i was talking about the public coming and spending money with the vendors to make it worth the sponsors time to come. sponsors come to events to make money and promote product. every company I talk to wants me to tell them my attendance estimate for people in the show and spectators. sorry I didnt clarify. IF there is a profit made @ the show there is already a plan for which the people in the car show will benefit from but the only people that know what that plan is are the sponsors and myself.

you can still come and please dont try and make it look like this show is to make money because its not it was only supposed to be a meet but I figured ide make it interesting and call it a show and get everyone involved. would still like to meet you and sorry for any bad blood you might have with me. i wish our shows where not the same day because I really wanted to come to yours maybe next year we can coordinate so yours is one week and mines the next as i plan to do this again every year. This way there is no conflict on anyones schedule.

It looks to me like somebody is making money, ya think! I see you mention that you want people to come to make it worth the sponsor's time to come. If he has a product worth a **** he should want to come out and showcase it. They are sitting around worrying about attendance list when it should not make a difference. A good product will make one person tell a hundred more to check it out. He should be glad that you as a host thought enough about his product to invite his *** to be a part of your function!

 

i couldn't agree with you more! every company I have talked to Injen, Turtle Wax, Mazda USA, K&N, JEImportPerformance, Advance Auto Parts, Sound FX, Eagle 1, Rotora, Dominos, Pizza Hut, AutoZone, Pepboys, Pohanka Mazda of Salisbury, and about 30 other big names all want me to fill out a form and there main thing is " how many people do I think is coming?" because they don't seem to want to give the time to come to an event unless its going to be worth their time meaning they want to know if they can make money somehow either at the show or later on by the people that came to the show. GIVEN this is my FIRST show I am still getting this worked out. Next year I'm sure its going to be easier for me to get sponsors and not charge to park on a lot because I wont be charged as much or at all who knows. congratulations on your being able to offer this free everything at your event but your preaching to the wrong person. Look at all the BIG time shows / Nopi, OC Car & Truck Show, Sema, anything that has a large turnout you have to pay to get in to those shows MORE then mine, you have to pay big bucks to show your vehicles and as a vendor they have to pay STARTING in the thousands to even get a 10x20 block to place their products there!

Have I criticized your show at all? Why are you doing it to mine...? I wish our shows weren't the same day like I said before, Ide love to come to yours and guess what next year I will come I don't care what you say about mine or how much you blast the price to get in to it. If you would call the companies I listed above and tell them what you think they should do like not worry about it and if their product is good enough they should just come and let me know what they tell you I will call em back and ask em to show up and see how fast I get denied, again.

Ive had people locally and on the other 15 forums I have posted on say things like I wish I could come to your show but its too far for me for the time I have it. They are in PA or upper MD or even NJ. So I try to convince them to come to the show cause the more the better. IF I cannot I tell them about your show why because its a Mazda show right? And its closer to them I don't tell people hey don't go to their show come to mine no I tell them to go to yours if they cannot make it the distance to mine. Sorry for stepping on your toes and having a show the same day it wasn't my intention after I read about yours and got several PMs about moving mine I went to the owner of Ocean Downs and tried to but the weekend before is a no go and anything after my date is a no go because its a horse race track and they start their season the week after my show. I cannot move it earlier because I wouldn't have enough prep time for it.

And NO I wont be making any money on the event I have already come out of my own pocket 200 or so just for printing up fliers to pass around so on the show I'm -200 already. Any money that is in the positive area is going to benefit the people that attend the show not the person (me) who is setting up the show I can guarantee it. I plan to leave the show at the end with the same amount of money in my pocket I showed up with unless I buy something which I probably will. oh and the 200 i have spent will be part of the me leaving still -200 in my pocket.


start edit: --- and the vendors at my show are giving stuff away for free the money they will make will be from the products / exposure they get at the show later on when people leave. not at the show selling the products.

and im out 350 instead of 200 because i forgot i hired a professional photographer to be there takin pics.
