GA timing problem...

i have put a 12a into my 1970 beetle. but when i got the motor the distributor was out. an im just learning on the rotary engine as of 6 months ago. which i love the change btw. but the problem im having is how do i know when i line up the distributor gear mark with the timing mark how do i know its still set when i set into place is there another mark on top?

an do the vacuum advances need to be hooked up while tring to start..

the car will run you just have to spin it for awhile at full advance..

please post a diagram if you have one please.

You have to line up the pulley to the correct mark with the front cover and then the dizzy there should be 2 marks that need to be lined up when you drop it in. Sounds like your just off a tooth.
