hi im street porting my 80 12a but for the exhaust they offer streetport and raceport templates what is the diff. bettween the two and wich is better also i have been researching what i can do with the engine to simplify it as far as removing stuff like the smog pump and what can be eliminated in the vacume system all i can find is 83 and later help.

 

race port will be bigger.

better is relative; it'll be louder, but will flow more if you have the intake and exhaust to use it. a stock carb on a street car might be better with the smaller port

if you're just removing stuff, just cap off any vacuum lines...
