Arrow New to ITBS

Since I refuse to go turbo on my 88 FC, getting ITBS will be my only option for any performance gain. I know that one would have to get the intake mani, itbs, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, tps, fuel pump, and a aftermarket ecu.

One thing I do not understand, and yes i have searched, is where do the sensors, vac lines and primary injectors go? If the primaries are on the ITB itself does one have to have a block off plate for the primaries on the engine block?

What type of gains should i be expecting with stock ports? Im currently have a rr true dual system exhaust, ported tb, and a cone filter and im happy with the power/ throttle response so idk if a 2000 dollar itb setup would be worth buying but it sure would be a fun project.

if you're happy, why switch? but anyways there is more than one way to skin the cat, sooooOo

the sensors, mostly they just stay where they are, you should buy a throttle body WITH a TPS, so that will come with, the air intake temp sensor should go in the air cleaner. the AFM cannot be used, so it and the stock ecu need to be replaced with a standalone.

primary injectors can go on the new throttle body, but its better to just keep them on the engine.

i want to switch cause i read that you can get more hp than a cone set up.

so you wont need any of the vac lines or solinoids except the pressure sensor vac line?

I think mazdatrix makes injector block offs. They made them for guys building old carby setups using newer engines.

no, since you can't use the stock ecu, you cant really use the solenoids either. although you COULD buy the RB upper intake http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1...ake/18101.html
and bolt it, with your choice of TB, to the stock lower intake, and keep all the smog stuff.
