CA Need Intake Suggestions!

I need help with my intake set-up. My original plan was to do a turbo swap on the car but decided to go NA. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a set-up. I am willing to change the intake manifold, go carb, itb, or stick with the stock set-up and get bolt ons. please help me out!

Have you upgraded your exhaust system? Redoing the intake won't help a lot unless you also redo the exhaust. Install a good catback exhaust system (RB makes a good choice) and then do the intake.

yea that true exhaust first as for the intake i run corksport piping with a HKS filter and a alum air box. (for some cold air you need to get rid of the washer resi.

yeah i was thinking a corksport set-up with a good filter. Then i was going to make something to get as much air as possible into that area. Is there anything else i can add? I am also gonna do injectors and a S-AFC2.

i would get the rtek over s-afc and you dont need injectors (your running rich as it is) you might want to do a tune up and clean the inj.

How much power can i expect with a good intake, ignition, exhaust set-up, and a good tuning? If its worth it i might go itb's.

well you have a better intake manifold than me (i have a s4) with rtek, full exhaust, intake you should hit 180 or so on the dyno .

ITB's would be the way to go if you had tons of $$ (and someone to tune it) but i would rather save up for a port job on the motor and full standalone.

no they one you have is better and you have higher comp rotors (s4-142hp s5 -160hp)
the awr one is nice but waay to much money

my set up isnt done yet (waiting for header wrap and hks filter) the piping is from corksport

that my airbox (im going to run a cold air set up like nick1986's)

Yeah i got the s5 setup. I might make a custom intake setup, dont know yet.
i have a throttle body ready to get ported. And i was thinking of running a turbo2 intake manifold or one off the REW motor.

i have a question about the s5 intake manifold as well....sorry if im thread jacking.

i read a little thing on swaping out the s4 intake for the s5 and was wondering if it was more beneficial to do that or to swap out the entire s4 for a s5 engine?

and i have another question about removing the washer fluid box..what would that do?

More beneficial to swap for a complete S5 NA as was noted above the higher compression rotors in the S5 combined with its intake produce more hp.

That would be the intake for the air pump. You can put a K&M breather filter for a V8 directly on the pump to eliminate that problem.

The Corksport intake looks fine, but I don't like the sharp bends, they should have used radiused bends. It probably also heat soaks from the exhaust, which could loose you power.

One thing to consider, has anyone actually shown that it makes any more power than stock? You could be spending the money just for the shiny metal, not for any performance advantage.

So is there a good difference between have the cold air box thing compared to not running one at all?

If so, how did you make that? Or did you buy it somewhere?

Depends, a box by itself does nothing unless it has a source of cold air, like from a headlight duct or scoop.

So... can you tell me if it's good if you do have a cold source of air? How much better would it be?

I'm not convinced that a cone filter, air box and source of cold air is actually any better than stock, since it has a source of cold air already. You probably won't see any boost in performance, at least not a significant one.
