You don't need a TIG to make a muffler. I also already answered your question about primary length. Go back and reread post #5.

RB staggers their presilencers due to space reasons. You can too, or put them side by side if you make your own presilencers that will fit in the available space. Or get 4" diameter presilencers from RB (the old school style) and stagger them. But like I said it really doesn't matter. Make it fit the car.

By the way that louvered thing you posted earlier isn't going to work very long or very well on a rotary. It has to be a perforated tube.

Sounds like you're going to do what you're going to do. Good luck.

Mine really isnt that loud. I have the RB street port front section from an rx7 so it has the staggered silencers that Jeff spoke about... then it goes over the axel and collects into the 3in HushPower... I really like it so far

How long have you been running the HushPower? I'm curious about that "sound deadening material" they use around the outer casing that looks mysteriously like fiberglass - I wonder how long it will hold up.

Otherwise I think your setup sounds awesome, however you turned off the video right when you start revving it!!!! I wanna hear what it sounds like up high. That might just be the ticket, right there.

I've been dreaming on hacking up a Borla Hush (WRX muffler) and fitting it on an FB, its the nicest (in my opinion anyways, aka mellow) sounding exhaust on the WRX engine, which can be almost as loud as a rotary. However, the HushPower is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper!!! The Borla runs $600

Now you got me dreaming on a dual-long primary, equal length, triple HushPower setup, essentially replicating the RB center section only with the HP's instead of RB's.

I have not been running it long at all but I was told by the head of there R&D department that the HushPower will handle EGT's of over 2200 degrees... we shall see... I think they would be to big around to use up front as silencers though...

73rx313b could you please do a longer clip of that exhaust setup - engine revving, car driving etc?

I'm considering this exact setup - dual long primaries into a HushPower. My current setup (from previous owner) is less than ideal. Sounds fine at idle/low acceleration, but like a rattler alarm clock in a coffee can with a nest of p*ssed off hornets thrown in the mix at WOT.
