Weekly RX-7 gathering: Denver area.

We were kicking this idea around in the March Meet thread, and it seemed that there was enough interest to start its own thread.

It seems like most of the people interested, even if it is just a few of us, were in the Northern area, so that's where I'm leaning towards having it. Of course we're open minded so if you can think of a more centralized location--that won't be too far from everybody--then by all means chime in. Now that the weather is getting consistently warmer, we could start considering parks and such (can we say BBQ?)

Not all of us are 21 yet, so let's keep bars out of the pool.

The other issue is of course when. I was originally thinking mid-week, but that seems to be less and less convenient for most, so would a Saturday work? Or would Sunday be better?

The Denver Motorsports weekly gathering is cool and I'll be attending that occasionally too, but I'd like to see something during the day so that we can all check out the cars in their full sunlit glory (even if it's faded glory--love runs deeper than paint). Additionally, if we want to go for a cruise, we can keep the aerodynamics ideal with the headlights down.

What are your thoughts, Denverites and Coloradoans?

I'm thinking in either Broomfield or Boulder at a Coffee shot or some place with food. BBQ's should really be scheduled as most people are likely to go to these! Mike, I think is trying to get one setup.

I'm up for just about anywhere and anytime! Of course, if it's the week It'll have to be after 4.

Yeah, if it's during the week, it will have to be in the evening since I work til 530-600... and sometimes I deliver chinese food in the evenings. I think it's safe to assume that most people are generally unavailable for a midweek daytime gathering.

Let's see what some other people have to say, but I'm definitely more for the Boulder/ Louisville/ Broomfield meetup at a coffee shop/ deli/ etc. than anything else, so far.

LoL
Maybe we should have the meet at general random locations. Since we're keeping them small, we can just call each other and say where we're going to be at.

What we need to do is decide on a day.

Sunday works better for me. And I would have to make it an early lunch because I have an appointment back in Denver at 1:30. But if that is cool for everyone else that works for me

Sunday is fine by me so far.
As long as it's mid-day. 1130 AM - Noonish sounds like a good time.

See the problem is making a weekly meet is pointless to alot of us. It takes the fun out of having a meet if you do it every week. Every couple months is more like it for a big meet. Its like the people who work at disney land it sucks for them cause they are there so often.

Don't show up if you don't like the idea.
This isn't really a "meet" so to speak, notice I called it a "weekly gathering"--that's exactly what it is. A gathering. We talk amongst ourselves over the internet on a daily basis, so this is just the next level. Seems like most of us are a cool bunch of people, it'd be interesting to actually interact with some of us on a more than text basis, no? We all share a common interest, obviously, but that doesn't mean we have to talk about nothing but RX-7s... there are other things in life besides spinning triangles.

This is an opportunity to hang out with some people, eat some food, toss around some bullshit and just do things that comrades do.

But if you don't want to play, nobody's forcing you. I'm not going to hold your hand, and you don't have to bring mommy.

Ahh, well, that'll make three of us as FC enthusiasts without an FC present.

Seems to be a common thing amongst this circle.

Yeah... I've been building a snow fort all morning in preparation for SNOWMAGEDDON 2005!!!

Or, in other words, a snowball fight. Big kids vs. little kids.

I could probably still drive there. Maybe. I haven't seen what the roads are like outside of my neighborhood, but I know a girl with a Jetta across the street made it to the mall and back, so...

I'll check back in a little while, but maybe we ought to try this next week instead.

If anybody wants, they can call me and see what happens from there. 3/918.2534
