What would you sell the 3rd gen for? You have pic's? You should also list your info for 3rd gen owners in Colorado....it's a sticky here on the Mountain section.

I guess I didn't make any sense. I have a 2003 gti 20th anniversary edition and i want to trade it for a rx7 3rd gen. I had a '90 but it was stolen and i got a insurance check for way less than it was worth, so my uncle let me have his gti and now im trying to trade the gti for a 3rd gen rx7

Just FYI - I had both a 2003 GTI and my RX-7 at one time. I bought the GTI so I could drive to Longmont from Golden every day (90 jmiles round trip). Got rid of it when we moved our offices closer. That 2003 GTI is a great car, good power, nice little turbo, great gas mileage and nicely appointed for a relatively inexpensive car. Just FYI I got about 15k for mine when I sold it, it had about 37k miles on it.

With that being said, I am not sure there are that many 3rd gen RX-7's out there in CO, and the chances you'll find someone with one that wants to trade for a GTI might be slim, however you never know!

I would probably try to sell the GTI first and then look around (in & outside of CO) for a nice 3rd gen. You might have a better chance of getting what you want....just my $0.02 - Good luck!

I feel sorry for people who only own a 3rd gen RX-7 for their only transportation. I think it needs to be more of a weekend car.

Yeah I know what you mean, when I was 22 and bought my first one (ouch 10 years ago) it went with me everywhere but racked up miles like hell. The GTI I had up until about 8 months ago was a third car at the time....the RX-7 was too precious to put the miles on and with the Jeep gas mileage @ 14mpg, a 90 mile ride each day just could not be done without something that was comfy & had good gas mileage. I really did like that GTI, new for around $22 grand you get a really great car, but three cars is a bit too much.

I have 3 cars and im 22, but my 84 rx-7 is the only one that is running right now, my 87 rx-7 is awaiting its 20b conversion (winter project) and my 48 jeep is still not running right, I think it needs a new gas tank... also if anyone in the springs is looking to score a 93 rx-7 there is one at the powers auto park Mazda dealership, I haven’t seen it yet but I was contacted by one of the sales representatives about it, it is an automatic though, that is why I did not jump on it

I hope you know what your getting into on a 20B conversion! It's a lot harder than you may think.....plus fin!ding someone to tune it is a whole problem in itself. BDC won't even do it

There are a few for sale around CO, a couple nice one's on the list here as well. I would keep the GTI, get rid of the second Gen and upgrade the 3rd gen IMO. It is nice to have a least one completely reliable car around like the GTI!

Best of luck...
