Skiiers/Snowboarders in CO
Any rotor heads here in CO love snowboarding or skiing as much as I do? Well I'm getting the 5 Mountain Pass (Breck/Keystone/A-Basin/Vail/BeaverCreek) and seein if anybody else is planning on going up alot this year! Since all I have is my seven, I'm gonna be hitching rides all the time, and we should carpool up this year. From what I've heard the snow should be awesome this year! So lets plan on at least gettin all of us to go up at least once this year!

I'm a very mediocre skiier (can't do moguls so mostly blues for me) but I do plan on going a few times this year. I have a 4x4 4runner and I wouldn't mind carpooling up with some people

Well with the 5 mountain pass ($460) you get 10 free days at vail and 10 free days at Beaver Creek. But Breck isn't too much more than Copper... but I do ove the bowls at Copper. But Peak 7 at Breck is one of my favorites, there are just so many rollers. Which are my favorite!
Has anybody been to Steamboat? My buddies live up there, so if I make the trip I can ride for free. Cause its like $95 a day!!!! F- that! But IMO, is one of the best places in CO. Love the back country there, always like 4 ft of powder, and have so many cliffs, its amazing! But if you go without someone who knows every cliff, it can be very dangerous, cause they come out of nowhere! My best friend took me to this 40 ft cliff, and since it was about 4ft of powder, hiking up would've taken over an hour! So I said **** it and went for it! It was the biggest cliff by far I've ever done! It was like a 3 second free fall. It was so sick... after I landed. Before I was so pissed he took me there. I was about to cry! Not really but you get the idea!

I am going to get my 5 mountain pass from REI tonight. I board, generally hit up area 51 at Keystone. I like riding the ganjala for my warm up.
On a pow pow day I am at blue sky basin all day long.

I am down to board Breck! I will hopefully pick up the mountain pass soon. I have the truck, I would be down for splitting the gas. I can make it over and back without filling up and I can take a total of 5 with the crew cab.

Awesome, I'll definitely hook you up with gas... I also have a universal rack that'll hold 4 sets of skiis/snowboards. So if we need to use that. We need to drag Eric and Zico up to!!

I'm coming out to Colorado for some snowboarding this year. 4th December in face, but I just dont know where to go.
I can ski, but want to try boarding for a change. Complete novice though.
I'll be coming out on my own, as all my friends will be going to Europe this year.
Where can people recommend for lodging at a sensible rate?
Thanks

Honestly the best place to stay at is in Frisco. Its about 20 minutes from Breck, Keystone and Copper. Its in the center of the triangle of those three mountains and its where I stay almost everytime I do stay overnight. They have everything from motels to super luxurious condos. Its got everything in that little town. And will be better bang for the buck. You'll spend 3 times as much staying in the base of the mountains. And you have the opportunity of going to different mountains if you stay for more than a night.

Without having to get a car from the Airport, what is the transportation like?
I think I'd be able to get the shuttle from the airport, just wondering about getting to the slopes. Is there shuttle buses from Frisco?
Thanks

My guess would be that there is not shuttle buses from the airport. Its typically a couple of hour ride to the slopes. Basically, your going to need some wheels. You can always get the cheapest rental possible and it will give you the freedom to resort hop. Tyler might know more since he has lived much longer.

They actually do have shuttles from most major cities. I don't remember the name of the company, but they use vans and go to all the major resorts. Its pretty awesome, it includes a ride, lunch and a ticket for one price. They even have one where you get lessons too. Although if I remember correctly its a one day thing, but I'm sure if you did your research you could get all the info. Sorry I don't know the name of the company, but I know that it does exist.
