Possibly moving to the Springs.....couple ?'s

So, I will be in Colorado Springs next week for an interview. I have wanted to live in Colorado for most of my life. Anyway, any suggestions on something to do on a Tuesday night?

Now, technical questions......

Who in the area is able to tune the PFC?

Any decent rotary shops in Colorado?

Does the Springs have emissions?

Thanks in advance......

The springs does not have emissions unless you have a diesel. I live in Denver and I registered both my cars, FD included, in the Springs. There are no real rotary shops in the springs, but there is a decent place on Platte and Boulder that does performance. The best rotary place in Colorado only an hour away from the springs though. I know there are few places in Denver that can tune a Power FC...I have no idea about anyone in the springs. I can find out for you though if no one beats me to it.

About something to do tuesday nights in the springs.....the answer is no. There ain't **** to do in Colorado Springs period. If you like bars, the only place I would go is 15c on bijou and tejon downtown. If you like clubs, there are a few, but the only good one is Cowboys on Pikes Peak (I think...give or take 2 blocks) and Tejon...again, downtown. If you like strip clubs, there is Apalooza out east on Platte and Powers. They have the street racers cruise Academy on friday and saturday nights, but after a year going by and none of them willing to race me down Helan Hunt falls, We started referring to them as the Midnight Crew...mainly because in order to be a street racer, you have to actually.......wait for it......RACE.

The Springs has a pretty decent meet on Saturday nights at the Grocery Warehouse and at Sonics. Starting to hear about a bunch of FD's up there. Feel free to PM me to get information on the local shops.

We do plan on bringing out Steve Kan again later this year if we get enough interest.

Thanks for the responses. I am interested in having Steve set up my car correctly. I guess we will see how the interview goes on Tuesday.

Hey man, I'm here, hit me up! What do you drive? I drive a MB FD. I was out at Grocery tonight actually, and Helen Hunt last night. There are quite a few of us here. I know the guys at the shop on Platte and Boulder, it's Street Dreams. They do pretty good work, and one of the owners has a CYM FD too. They're good guys. And there is a good tuner just down the street from them. It's great here man, I love it. PM me if you wanna hang out.

Oh and I think the white FC that you saw might have been Tyler, he's cool too. And that thing is clean!

OH, and you CMZC guys, I saw you guys two weeks ago on a Friday night leaving the parking garage behind Cowboys, I was riding in a minivan though haha.

speedjunkie - I haven't seen you in a while. We went to the hill climb thing. We need to meet up some time. We've been doing a weekly friday meet at the sonic at chapel hills.

foreignracer - If it was on north academy by chapel hills than that would have been me. I can't beleive I didn't see you.

Yeah Chris, it's been a while. I would have been at the hill climb but my Mom and Aunt came into town that weekend. I'll have to check out the Friday meet, but it might be a while cause I'm about to put the car down for a single turbo swap. And no time better than now cause I can't afford gas for the damn FD in the next two weeks haha. Maybe I'll swing down there this Friday and start working on it this weekend.

And Corey said he was on his R1 so I'm not surprised you didn't see him, haha. MMMMMM R1, damn I want one of those so bad.

^Well come on out man. Corey (the OP) has hung out with us the last couple days and we've had a great time. He's already giving our buddy Zico **** for still not having his FD up and running, HAHA...so basically what I'm saying is he's already part of the fold haha.

Keep the Turbo II. It seems you have quite the collection. I have a sister that lives in Cleveland and I lived in Ashtabula for several years when I was a kid.

The Springs seems like a great place to live and I have found many great people out here in the rotary community. We are actively trying to make the community larger and trying to get more people involved. Here is a great site to check out: http://coloradomazdaclub.com/ The mountain club forum here is not all that active so you are better off finding your way to the site posted. We are all willing to lend a hand in maintenance as we know all Rx7 owners need it at some point. I guess we will need to schedule a winter break away get together to for lunch to meet any new members. Good luck. I am sure you will like the weather better than Ohio.

I am going to quit giving Zico so much **** because his car is going to be badass when he is finished (some day).

if i can sell the turbo for 3500 dollars, its gone. I have a lot more personal attachment to the 82 GS and my GLH.

That and its already expense to move out there. Trying to find some way OTHER than uhaul to get out there. 2000 dollars for a truck with a trailer is ridiculous.

Is that renting only a trailer? I paid $500 for a drive on trailer to tow my car out. Ryder and Peneske also do tow trailers, but you have to use their truck to tow it. Also, check out www.uship.com . Its like a auction site for shipping anything including cars. My old man had good luck with it.

Post some pics of the TII. What kind of shape is in? Does it have that shitty NE rust?

that is for a 17' uhaul truck for all my other crap. ill probably just buy a truck and tow a trailer out once i get established. I can store stuff here for a while.

The car is actually pretty decent. Its canadian but was real well kept.

Well it will never get finished if he keeps playing Call of Duty 4 til the wee hours of the morning HAHA. I really want to get it on the road and get Simon's finished too. There is another guy that's putting his engine in soon, if he isn't already. I don't know his name though.

Low Impedance, like foreignracer said, we are definitely willing to lend a hand. Just yesterday we were working on Simon's car. I have so much fun turning wrenches haha. And after my turbo swap is finished I'm gonna be bored as **** til I get my TII and FB out here to start working on, so I'll probably be just aching to help some others haha. Your TII is in pretty good shape though, wow.

Well when you do move here, just contact me, I will usually get all the info on the seven meets here in the springs. Most of us are pretty close, and since there's not too many people who are into meeting up, we all kinda know eachother. Although as of this summer, I'm the only one with an FC, I see a couple other ones around town, but none of them meet up. I even got tricked this weekend, there was a RX-7 meet at Sonic by the Chapel Hills Mall and my buddy Z convinced me to go cause he said there were 3 FCs! I was excited, so I kinda ditched my date to go up, to find out there were zero FCs... only a couple FBs and about 5 or so FDs... and a stock RX-8. But we usually meet at the Garden of the Gods, so let me know.

Well ur meetin the wrong people, cause thats all we do, is hit up Gold Camp and Garden of the Gods, but we run into the same problem... noone wants to race a mountain pass. So if ur down we should meet up! We usually meet every Saturday at the main parking lot at the G.O.G. around 11-12. There's always about 5-15 of us, but more wouldn't hurt. We even put down times and ****, so we tend to usually have a good time!

Never heard of anything goin on Tuesdays... or anyday besides Friday and Saturday for that matter.
