HEY GUYS !!!!

I am EXCITED to announce the FIRST annual New Mexico Rotary Summer Meet!!!!

It will be held at Sonic Drive-in On Montgomery Blvd. just east of Eubank. I am requesting help to decide on the days activities.

1- We could meet up during the day 2pm-ish mingle at Sonic, meet each other, and drive up the crest of the Sandias OR
2- Meet up in the evening eat a little and cruise Montgomery that night.

( I asked for suggestions earlier as did Shat83 but recieved none STILL OPEN FOR THEM!!)

PLUS WE NEED A NAME !!!!!

I thought of:
1- False Authority (no specific meaning just sounded cool?)
2- NM 7's & 8's

I am open for these as well Post a reply with suggestions and comments. PLEASE DONT FLAME THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVE NO SUGGESTIONS YOURSELF!!!
I dont want to make any of these decisions with out input. After all, this is your club too!

As for the name, what about NMRX - New Mexico Rotary Exchange? (or similar)

Isn't there a nick name for New Mexico? Maybe something simple like

"Rotary Club of New Mexico"

or

"NM Rotaries"


As far as a meet....You guys should meet at Sonic for about 1 - 2 hours, get some food and go on a cruise on some windy road if you have any out there. Another thing I usually do, is get on local Import forums and meet up before a big meet. That way you can roll up with maybe 7 RX-7 and people will **** there pants as they have never seen so many RX-7's at one place! Isn't Nopi or HIN comming soon? Maybe a big import meet?

 

Also the date for the meet will be Jun 23rd.

 

what about hostile performance? just an idea thats the name of my local 2 car car club

The club name, even if boring....needs to tell people it's a Rotary club. Also, there are a few threads and sites that have a list of all known Rotary clubs in US. Once you settle on a name, you need to have them update it.

Also, I would buy the domain name at godaddy.com and point it to the NM section on MileHighRotaryClub.com for now until you get your own site some day.

You will need to order stickers to put on other Rotaries to promote the name

Get business cards with domain name to give to all members. If you see a car in parking lot....put a card on window.

Also, make it out to all the import meets, ect and look for new cars! I will sticky this until after the event!

 

BTW....what is the Elevation in NM?

In Colorado it's 5280 so my alternate name for our club was 5280 Rotaries....Maybe this works....but everyone knows elevation in Colorado....It's a mile high!

 

Not to sure about the elevation Idea it sounds whack with ours.

Someone needs to make some flyers and drop a bunch off at any Mazda dealership or any shop that works on Rotaries to help get the word out.....It sounds like your first meet will be much better then our was!

 

Zia rotaries sounds good. I will post it on the 8 forum, also the new time is going to be 4pm instead of 2.

Sorry guys been gone with the military for a minute. We had our first meet already. I tried to incorporate the south forum numerous threads and did not find any involvement so I gave up! I am getting married on the 6th of OCT so I am trying to coordinate another meet ( hopefully better than the 6 that showed up on the 1st meet) with the VP Shat83. I kind of dropped the ball a bit because of some of the lack of involvment from forum members. It is funny how people can flame threads but no one speaks up w/suggestionsw. HOWEVER as always still open for event suggestions as far as activities and dates. These events are not to my schedule it is a club with many different schedules and personalities.
