Snow wont rust a car. Cars here have basically no rust on the.
Dunno about the haltech. But even up in Vail, the FD is usable at least 6 months out of the year

Welcome! Vail is beautiful. Your FD will be mostly useless in the winter of course, but in the spring/summer/fall there are tons of beautiful places to drive. It probably can't be your DD though, need something with 4WD/AWD up there. Rust isn't an issue as mentioned, you just have to watch out for the magnesium rocks that they lay down to melt the ice (that's what they use instead of salt, and salt rusts your car), which can chip up your paint. It's only really an issue in the late winter/early spring.

There is a guy down here in Denver named Don who tunes Haltech (but he doesn't like to); he's the only one I know of (I have a PS1K myself).

As of late the RX-7 community has been pretty dormant in CO, at least outside of the Springs. But again, welcome!
