Fort Collins meet ideas?

I was thinking about having a little meet and drive some afternoon and possibly a trip to the drive-in in Fort Collins afterwards?

Not really anytime soon because I need work on my car some more.

Also, I was thinking it wouldn't have to be strictly rotary more of a general car meet if anyones interested.

Send me a PM (:

So long as I don't have some other obligation, I'm always up for hanging out and driving on any decent weekend. The Miata and I need twisties!

You should probably move back to Colorado then.

Just set a concrete day/time and I'll do what I can to get down there. I've been looking for some meets but all the threads seem to be about last summer. I'm in Cheyenne right now, but would definitely head down there for some fun.

it's because I haven't been getting anything together up north and left it up to Laurel.

Let's do something soon. I'm working on painting the 79 right now so in about 2 weeks I'll be done (hopefully) and we'll do something.

Once I do a little work on my "new" FC I'll be up for mountain drives. Hopefully in a weekend or two? This weekend is full of wrenching and the KBPI car show...

Hopefully I'll be working on my non-rotary project and have it partially driveable in the next few weeks.

Tenative plans to travel to Colorado on the Tuesday the 22nd for a little mountain driving. I'll be based out of my brother's house in Greeley. Only be out there a couple of days...thru Thursday or Friday.

Figured I'd mention that and subscribe in case you guys plan something for that time frame and allow "outsiders".

Bumping.
Doing some last minute maintenance today and leaving tomorrow AM. Depending on my route I should be in Greeley in the afternoon. If my brother doesn't cause me to have a bad hang-over, I plan on getting into the mountains the next day. If you'd want to meet up that would be great. If not, I'm just a dumb flat-lander so if you have pointers for driving, or suggestions on drives they'd be welcome. I'm thinking Estes Park area and Poudre Canyon (IIRC, hwy 14? ). Maybe up toward Steamboat?
Also, it's not critical I'm but curious...is 93 octane available in that area at all?
Thanks.

Hey Jim,
I would love to join you. Stoopid work...
The road to Estes is beautiful, even if the speed limits are a bit low. Poudre canyon is spectacular. Check out these suggestions. http://www.motorcycleroads.com/route...ex.htm#region1 They're pretty much my laundry list of roads to try. Not sure about the 93 octane, but remember that your octane requirements are a bit less at altitude.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestions. And I understand about the work thing. I planned to do this last year and had to cancel for the same reason.
Take care.

Old women should just stay home.

Yeah, I joined there the other day. It was kind of a pain for the joining process, approvals, etc. I've tried posting a few things, but everything is subject to moderator approval. That whole process has been a little discouraging.

Yeah, that sucks. Apparently, it's a known issue and they are working on it.

Not much action- meet wise- going on there. It's mostly a chat forum :/

Last time I'll bother you guys. Just wanted to say I had a great time in the moutains. Thanks again to ScrapFC for the route suggestions. They were both great, but really liked Hwy 7 south out of Estes. Despite the time of year, there wasn't much traffic all the way to Nederland....except for the occasional Sport Bike. Those guys have big ones. You guys are lucky...great roads and scenery. And the beer was cold in the evening.
