my father just went out and bought a 81 rx7 and I have a 86 rx7... his is a 12 b engine and I have a 13 b engine but the engine in mine is shot can a 12 b engine go into a 13 b engine car and how bad will that mess up the car??? thank you and have a wonderful day

its a 12a and 13b.
basically, no.
long story short, mounts are different, his is carbed, yours is FI.
there are MANY reasons it wont.
it "could"....would it be worth it? no. it would cost more than just buying a new or rebuilt engine.

 

ahhh thanks and my dad messed up and it's a 12a motor not a 12b but it's the same so thanks and I will let him know...
