grab a reman if you have the cash. Or you can tear yours down using the many manuals posted here and even take a shot at porting if you have the *****.

A spec could always do a rebuild for you.

how difficult is a street port going to be? i would send the engine away for a rebuild but i don't have the money and i feel i'll learn the most about a rotary engines if i take it apart myself.

very true. In my opinion its best to do it yourself as logn as your ultra **** and careful doign it step by step, you should be able to rebuild it on your own with out too much hassel. Also, porting takes the right touch, you have to be very careful and you have to know what kind of overlaps and size your gunna need to do it.

I would buy one of the several rebuild videos that are available and start there. I think Atkins rotary has a good one.

Anybody know about the RE 13B DIY? I thought those were supposed to be pretty good videos. Other than that, yeah, Atkins is really good from what I've heard. Don't forget your handy dandy FSM, that's always good, too.

Maybe even find an engine in a salvage yard, and practice the proper teardown procedure on it and how to make sure what is and isn't in spec. I did that, and it saves you the worry of totally screwing up your engine that is supposed to run again some day.

There are A LOT of salvage yards in Wisconsin. I know Gibson's Auto Wrecking in Neenah has over a dozen RX-7s, most (except the TurboII) have their motors.
