Where is the best roads to drive in the midwest?
So I am looking for the most fun roads to drive on in the Midwest. I am looking for smooth, low traffic roads the the police don't hang out around all that much. The wife and I are wanting to plan for a nice weekend cruise in the RX7 sometime this summer. I was thinking that some good roads might be somewhere in Kentucky through part of the Smoky Mountains? If you know of some good roads please let me know. Thanks,

The Mountain Parkway in Eastern Kentucky is pretty wicked when you get to the two lane part of it. Cops are there sometimes though. Also in Eastern Ky there is a backroad I used to drive on all the time; it is off Highway 23; the road is State Highway 825. It is a two-lane back road, I only saw one cop last summer while I was there. Drove it atleast twice a day for three months. It is good scenery too; that is why you are asking of course. Pretty smooth road too.
Here in Western Kentucky though, Union County is where I'm at, I drive on route 666 before work, 2 miles of it nice curves, not too smooth though. Other than that I haven't found anything nice here. Though if you are planning on going to Smokey Mountains in Ky/Tn.... All the roads that way are "Rx-7 Friendly."

Thanks, my wife has some family in London KY, so I was looking at a map of that area and there does not look like there are to many straight roads around there. That might be the area where we head to.

No Problem.
All the roads down that way are sweet.
I'm actually moving back to Eastern Kentucky once I get my engine rebuilt.
Decided a summer off before law school.

Deals Gap Rotary Rally is where you want to go. https://www.rx7club.com//forumdisplay.php?f=157
The roads in that area are simply unbelievable! I took the wife last year, and we had a blast. And if you go during the rally (mid April), then you get to cruise with hundreds of other rotary enthusiasts. Friendly people, great food, fast cars, etc.

That looks like a really good time there. But unfortunately I can't get away for a long weekend this spring because of work. I might try for next year though. But that is the kind of roads I am looking for.
