so about this time of year i start lookin forwards to summerfest, and start checking the website weekly for new bands being added. well i got the idea, why not combine 2 great things into one? since summerfest doesn't really get going until after 5 or so when its dark, and tickets are usually cheaper earlier in the day anyways, why not have a rotary meet in one of the parking lots earlier in the day?
i think it would be a great idea, as long as we could find a parking lot we could prepay for spots.

i guess i thought that most people in the midwest knew what summerfest is, maybe its just wisconsins bordering states.
well its a huge music festival that lasts 11 days with a pretty good range of different kinds of music. it is right in downtown milwaukee and borders lake michigan. usually its 12-15 bucks to get in after 5 and like 8 or something before 5, they also have days when you can get in free if you bring canned goods etc, and once you get in all the bands are free aside from the marcus amphitheater shows.
i know alot of people from illinois come up all the time for it, its a real good time.

so any feedback? i see alot of views but no input.

Summerfest is a huge party on the lake (Michigan) here in Milwaukee. Lost of great music, it's a blast. Kentetsu, you could even take a ferry over (one leaves from Muskegon and one from New Buffalo).
Count me in if you can get something going.

 

Id honestly love to go to more meets to meet more of you crazy people but currently building up my PTO time

Im down. I live about 3 miles from the summerfest grounds.

 

ok so 4 people so far, thats pretty good maybe just a few more and it would be worth my efforts to get ahold of someone who owns one of the smaller parking lots outlying the event.
im thinking how this would all work is that once the full music lineup is release probably 2-3 months or so before we would be able to take a vote on which day would be best.
until then keep letting me know if your interested and once there is enough interest i will work on seeing if anybody will accept prepay for parking.
oh parking isn't that bad usually either like 8-12$ in case anyone was wondering.

Damn, race schedule just came out. I've got a local race on the last weekend of June, and a couple more on the first weekend of July. So, it sounds like I'm out.

edit: stone temple pilots has not been added to the website yet but it has been airing on the radio as on the lineup for a good week now. so i am pretty confident they will be there.

 

come on guys some real good bands here! we cant get 10 people to get together in the midwest for grilling out, cars, booze, and good music?

we had a meet up at the end of last summer at bong rec park... it was posted here in the midwest section.

not sure if ill make it... car needs a new engine and clutch and i have a kid due in just over a month...

 

I will probably be in, I try to make it down there a few times during the fest anyway.

 

im looking for at least 10 people who are for sure in before i contact cps about it, and time is winding down. if not 10 people maybe something less organized but still try and get a meet going.
