Don't worry man, do it once and you'll be hooked to it for life. I'm sure you'll see me around man, I make it to almost every event. I live about 120 miles from Canterbury, so I couldn't make it to both days. There should be another FB there, one of our members bought an 85 GS early this summer and is prepping for STS. Don't tell him I said this but I really don't think the FB will be competitive, we have a super hard STS competition in our club. He hasn't made it to an event yet, but will have the car ready for M9. Go figure, the first time an FB other than mine will be there all year and I won't even be there to enjoy it. There is another guy or two with an FB who never makes it. There will also be an FD running on M9. Monty (87 GXL) and Colin (88 AE) will be there. Very cool guys with FC's, they make it to most of the races. Colin is very fast, runs in SI and has almost won many times. I've been chasing just behind Monty's times all summer to give you an idea of about how fast my car is running. You can find me over at mnautox.com. I post under the name Coheed.
Run in SI, and you'll have to get a number when you show up. Phil, our numbers dude, is gone for the fall. Bring blue painters tape to put your number and class on. You can borrow a loaners helmet when you get there. Passing tech isn't hard at all, just make sure your wheels are on tight, your tires aren't shot, and your battery is fastened down. Our club is extremely competitive, however we are also very friendly and helpful. Make sure to go walk the course more than once, and take advantage of the novice course walk. Have an instructor ride with you whenever possible. Most of all, take it easy and get ready the most fun day in your life!
