Road Racing in Indy

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the May 7-8 event at IRP. SCCA is holding their regional race weekend at IRP. There will be plenty of RX-7's on hand inlcuding mine and Chris Ludwig's. So if you have nothing better to do come on by and watch up race.

Hey Pauly! When does it start?

What would I need to do to make my black GXL a ITS car?

Well the only easy answer is lots of money.

The bare bones minumum to run ITS would be all the safety items. Roll cage, fire extinguisher, master battery cutoff and of course all the driver safety equipment. Driving suit, nomex, helmet, gloves, shoes.

Come down to the race next weekend and I can give you a more detailed list.

Group 3 will have Formula Mazda which is a formula car powered with a 13B.

Group 4 will have ITS which will have 3 RX-7's that I know of (including me and Chris Ludwig). I am sure there will be more. E Production sometimes has RX-7s and the GT classes sometimes have RX-7's as well.

Group 5
Will most likely have First Gen RX-7's and possibly RX-8's in T3

The times will be hard to narrow down. Qualifying starts at 8AM (30minute sessions starting with Group 1. 35 minute races start after lunch ~1230PM.

Haven't decided yet. Is this the first year Gingerman is running a double regional?

Just wanted to check in and say the weather is supposed to be awesome for road racing this weekend . It should be great racing so come on down and check it out. It is a hell of a lot cheaper than going to a pro race at Mid Ohio for instance. See you there.
