need help plz
idk wer to post this so ill try it here
i found a resonably cheep motor for me. s4
i was told it was an na blok with a fresh rebuilt and street port
my question is, can this motor b boosted?
the guy said it can b with no problem.
but idk if it really can b safely.
and also idk what compresion ration it is, if its an na motor wouldent it have high comp ratios? and not work good for boost?
thats how piston motors work from what i know.
but bak to my question,
said this motor had fresh rebuilt, an street port, will it take boost?
if so what are the goods and the bads?
thanks in advance

lol. i started reading this, then see Ian posted in here.
pm IanS and tell him to come get his fender, lol.
anyway, the S4 NA engine should have 9.5:1 compression rotors.
the S4 TII had 8.5:1 compression, and the FD has 9.0:1, so you can see the steps toward the NA. The Renesis has even higher compression still.
basically, yes, you can boost it. how much? I don't know a safe number, that is easy to tell you, but I wouldn't go crazy. depending on the flow of your turbo, I wouldn't (personally) feel much safer than running about 6-8 psi.
there are many variables to consider, but thats just a quick answer. and I'm assuming your using conventional methods, and readily available parts.
In the long run, this will be a headache, and it will be much cheaper to just swap an actual TII engine and accessories in. trust me on that one.

if you look at this thread you will find a lot of usefull info. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/s5-6-port-turbo-whos-done-questions-inside-890359/ just finished up a s5 6 port turbo. runs nice and strong on 8 lbs, stepping up to 12-14 lbs after i get the new rear end in and break in the new clutch.

i wont do it , i will just go and buy a turbo motor that needs rebuild u will safe money ... and im sure if u buy this motor u dont wanna run 8 or 6 psi ... if ur gonna dosomething like this just go turbo buy the s5 motor with tranny that needs rebuild and rebuild it and u get something brand new ,,, trust me im doing the s5 swap and its not a easy one but if u dont wanna mess with all of the sensors and **** just buy a n/a engine and get ur car running ...
