I would suggest contacting Steven Burkett at Tuxedo Park Racing. He is one of the top RX7 Club Racers in the area from what I understand and does excellent work. You can find his contact information here http://www.tuxedoparkracing.com/ I have talked with him a couple of times and have plans to have him build my engine for me once I get to that point in my conversion project to an dedicated Autox car. I'm still in the tear down and assess stages right now.

I suspect if he can't do what you need he will know someone who can.

I'll second Steven B. He's been more than helpful to me and my IT7 1st Gen and will be getting the nod for my motor build next year! He's a true rotorhead having owned all 3 Gens as well as racing one of the first T3 Rx8's

Thanks for the kind words guys. I would be happy to look at your car, or e-mail me a description of the problem and we can talk about it (steve@lunch.org).

Long time no see, Ryan. I followed the link and would be all over the Indy event, but I am racing at Mid-America Motorplex this weekend.

Incidentally there is a SUPER clean '94 coming onto the St. Louis market soon... Another blast for Ryan - Pat Niemeyer is selling his car, and I don't think he's put 5K on it in the last four years.

I don't get much time to read the forums anymore, but you can e-mail or call (314) 541-7485 anytime.

Thanks,
Steven

engine problems

hey guys thanks for the info here's my problem , i just installed a rebuilt engine in my 88 vert the car has no mods and the old engine had idle problems well the problems transfered to the new engine . i put all new gaskets on the rebuild and checked all the vac lines for leaks . still the car doesnt like to idle when cold and the rpms when first started never rise above 1k unless i give it some gas. when the eng warns up it will idle but, it seems like has no power and when i give it some gas its not every responsive at first ,once above 2k it seems ok but it backfires alittle . any ideas ??

I think i'm going to convince my dad to contact steven about the rebuild on our 87. He lives within walking distance.

Haha, you two were probably 2 of the first 5 STL RX-7 guys I ever met

I'll give you a buzz this week and hopefully swing by your shop. My 93 is in Belleville right now, so it's on the way ... maybe we can get some RX Tuner vinyl on your race car. I'd love to do a story about it!
