So my car just made its way to my place in MN from AZ. Nice to have it home now that I have a climate controlled shop to keep it in. I wonder if anyone saw it on the trailer? Parents bought it new in 88 and I took ownership a few years ago.
I have owned this car since Dec 2002. I bought it as an Improved Touring A race car and campaigned in through 2009 as an IT car. Then converted it to Super Touring Under configuration over 5 years. These are some photos from the 2021 SCCA Runoffs at Indy.
Believe it or not. Painted by Maco in Kirkwood, Missouri. They did a fabulous job! My upholstery person did a fabulous job of matching the original fabric and color. I’m very pleased with how the paint job worked out.
A local shop here in St. Louis County called CARS. 314-423-6102. The gal that owns the shop has been doing cars and boats for over 30 years. She cusses like a sailor and smokes like a chimney, but does great work!
Here is my 94 RX-7 after I did the bodywork/paint at the local college auto collision technology program. It took me about three weeks going to class from M-TH, 8am-4pm. Every student has to submit an estimate for the vehicle he/she will be working on and my estimate for my car came to $8,045. The total labor estimate came to $6,371.51. I forgot to take the before pictures, but I do have the after pictures. After 21 years of ownership with autocross and high performance driving events, the car was due for bodywork/paint. Every panel needed attention and some panels needed a lot of attention. My car had a lot of hail damage and I counted over 45 hail dents on my hood.
I did include a race picture of my car before the bodywork/paint.
Bought it from the original owner in Ventura, CA when I was stationed there in 1994, it's been a long journey(and a lot of work) the past twenty-eight years, and I think I have finally "achieved" the look I always envisioned for her. You don't know how much I appreciate the "generous comments guys!
