Michigan Advice..
Hey guys,
1st off...I am pretty poor..ie I dont really want to buy a full rebuild kit for 800+ dollars..
so here's the deal I have an s4 short block which needs coolant seals, and I already have a gasket set for it which has coolant seals, I'm wondering the level of difficulty to just replace the coolant seals, I know if I'm going to pull it all apart I should rebuild it all, but I just can't afford it all..whats the best combo? Just keep track of everything and do gaskets only, gaskets and corner seals, gaskets and just apex seals? Anyone done anything like this? Any advice is appreciated..thanks!
Oh yeah I'm in flint..

around 40k on a rebuild is what i was told, although I have no way to know. I had the engine in my car and running and then found out about the coolant seals, but it ran really strong (for an na). Just trying to weigh my options I guess.

The difficulty rating would not be any less nor greater. its the same process. you'll still have to install the apex seals (the ones you have will fall out) just in this case they aren't new obviously. assuming everything checks out in spec to put back together (you don't want to put iffy seals back in u would be waisting your money.) go for it. you wont know till you disassemble it. you can get those coolant seals at atkins rotary
