just moved to st louis

Ive been on this board for a while, but I just recently moved to St Louis MO from Springfield MO. Just posting on here to say im here and see whats goin on around the area if possible. I was vice president (to make me sound important) of the Springfield RX-7 club, and I always enjoyed having gatherings of RX-7 people. My car cannot be with me untill I get a new place unfortunatly, the landlord only allows 2 cars (me, brother) but we are activley searching for a new place to live. Then it will be possible for my car to enjoy St Louis. Ive talked to Ryan in springfield (Gregg Marshall's shop, he built my motor) along time ago about MARX-7 and I just realized that has turned into this so.. here I am, hello.

Good luck finding a better place to live. I know what it is like when the landlord is a pain in the butt about cars. I live about an hour from St. Louis and travel to Edwardsville quite often, so I might run into you.

Hey-
Welcome to the area.

VP, huh? You wouldn't by chance have any interest in heading up a club here, would you? If so, pm me.

I have a royal maroon metallic 86 base, with all the GTU
suspension and brakes, with Volks and a black primered TII hood,( not by choice, it only cost me 20 bucks and it was aluminum)its really loud also. but like I said you wont see it up here untill I get a new place. Right now I drive a 90 B2200 with an Si sticker on it, and a huge skull in the rear window, it kinda stands out. I usually have a drawing of my car in my sig but for some reason it didnt put it in there on the first post.

Talking moved to Missouri from Chicago...

Hey guys, moved to Missouri from Chicago, just got rid of my 89 RX7 less than a month ago and of course because I'm a rotary freak I've got to have me a rotor under the hood and of course the only reason came with a Renesis...have been out here still live in the Illinois side in a small town but want to know when we have rotary events out here, I spoke to a friend in Chicago and he told me that there were rotor heads here as well. I kinda miss my weekends in Chicago where there it was always racing going on by Kindzie by the railroad tracks, 103rd and Stony Island and other good places, here I don't know anywhere where there's action. I have an 04 RX8 but still have my toy engine I had built and never seen a car to be put on yet. 12A bridgeported, NOS ready built by Papo Mazda in Chicago which he told me that with the same set up he was running 11's on th 1/4 mile... Hope to hear from some rotary freaks kinda want to go to one of them events and just see since I quit racing...kinda promised... and it's tough to give up...

Welcome to MISERY lol. I have an 04 RX8 as well. The rx8 club is getting a meeting together for the beginning of next month if you are interested-of course RX7 people are free to come. I'll post it up when the details get ironed out.

Talking thanks...

name is Willie, moved from Chicago roughly around 3 years ago and before that I traveled every weekend to the St Louis area for around two years. I've been away from real racing around 4 to 5 years now consequences of a promise I made to a special one; got rid of my white 82 Mazda RX7 around 3 years ago for various reasons none justifiable to me that is asides a divorce, but that white baby made my heart rock, for those who know and appreciate what a 12a bridgeported rotary engine can do with a jet out Holley 650 and a combination of T5 tranny and Ford 9" with 5.44 gear ratio can do and a MSD 6 firing 4 Crane 70k volt coils to each NGK plugs can do with a mist of a dual stage NOS shots 75/100 could appreciate my loss. Every time I think about it I get upset with my self. Papo Mazda, Cano and a few of the acceleration freaks of Chicago know me well, last I had was an 89 RX7 with a few toys. Boy I can stil ear that rotary...pra, pra, pra, pra, pra, pra, they way that many of us sound after a bowl of beans on the way to the commode.... hope to hear about racing out here and where to meet. My RX8 is stricly stock with a cold air intake, yet so far I ran a few here and there, don't know if it is on the foot or the hand but I was able to take two 350Z's(different occasions) contrary of what others might say, willing to prove my point any time as long as the 350Z is not modified that would be considered cheating... at least until I do my tricks to the 8...

love them rotary engines...maybe too boost in my head, I love the smell of NOS and rubber when you do a burn out and of course don't like them "no flat's the RX8 comes with" they suck, they look like slicks already and you get engine noise...lol...boy oh boy...49 years old and my daughter tells me I'm still think and act like an 18 year old, although I wish the rest of me would think the same...don't have a 6 pack anymore...change that for a 24 pack that is and gave that up too a while back...lol...alright, alright no need for further comments haven't give anything else up...lol...Hey, can anybody tell me if you guys have any summer events rotary vs pistons like we do/did in the Chicago area? I heard of events here but have no notion of where and when...can anybody tell me or pm or email me???

i think it would be awesome to have a good meet with all us rotor heads frome good ole stl. i have to leave back for florida in a few weeks for school and would love to meet some other rx7 owners before i do so, btw contrary to popular beliefs rotarys are quite reliable having made 6 nonstop 20hr drives in the past year on my 88 rex and it still running beautifully. anyway back to the subject in hand, if you think this is a good idea reply or send me a pm and i can try getting with a few people and figuring out logistics like where and stuff like that and i will post a thread about it seeing how many people will can come, to make sure it's worth the effort. from what it sounds like, we could have a really nice meet maybe have some bbq who knows.
