Finally gonna get my FD together!
Just had to post something up, I'm excited that I'll finally get my FD together ... it's been a total shame for a car that clean with so many nice parts to sit for years, but that's how life goes I guess. Well anyway, I keep in touch with Sean at A-Spec and have mentioned a few times how I'd love to get my car up there and let him go at it. Last week he writes and says he has a guy that can haul it up, we work it out and Saturday got the car loaded up and on it's way!
So now it's at his shop, I'll give him a week or so to sort through the parts then head up to Chicago myself to go over the details. Since winter will be here soon I guess we won't be in a rush, but I have no doubt it'll be ready for the first nice day of 2010.
Maybe this will be the reason for me to finally get my *** back in gear and plan some STL meets ... maybe not
If nothing else I'll do some track days next year. Feels good to actually have some hope for once, instead of just BS excuses.

Congrats, Ryan! Post up the pics when it's all sorted out and rolling.
lol, to tell the truth, I didn't even KNOW you had an FD. It must've been sitting awhile.

I have tons of goodies for it ... this is actually a good test to try and remember what I have, since it's been sitting so long.
BNR ported motor that Gary and I rebuilt with RX-7 Specilties 3mm seals
Xcessive lower intake and oil pan
Dual intank pumps and KG fuel system
GT3540 dual ball bearing turbo kit
Pettit Coolcharge III SMIC (might switch to v-mount)
PWR radiator
Rotorsports Racing dual oil cooler kit
Have both a Power FC and Wolf V4 plug and play, will probably use the Wolf
Brand new wiring harness
ACT clutch and flywheel
Full set of the lube groove bushings
Tokico Illumina shocks, Racing Beat springs and sway bars
18x10 Enkei RPF1 typeRC rims
Origin front and side, Chargespeed rear, sweet custom fenders that flare like Burnout but more aggressive
Pre-Auto sleek light kit
TheRaceShop race cage
Bride VIOS III seats in royal blue
Innovate wideband gauge and a bunch of other Defi and Autometer Nexus gauges
Car is a '93 PEP in Montego Blue with 64k miles ... it's very clean and never been hit. It'll get the body kit and a coat of House of Kolor, probably go for something dark blue and that a single coat of Cobalt over that to make it pop. Interior is tan but I'll be swapping it out with either black or royal blue carpet. I plan to do some sound deadening too when the carpet is out, and put in a nice sound system ... since stereo stuff is kinda my thing.
I'm thinking about getting that Atomic Rex manual steering rack, and will also get the Mazmart water pump. I'm undecided on ignition right now, but the plan is for no more that 15-16psi, so it won't need much. Other than that I think I have everything covered ... oh, a big brake kit probably from Racing Brake.
The Origin front has huge brake ducts, good for the dual oil cooler setup. I'll do some sheet metal ducting, the inside 2/3 of the duct will be for the oil coolers, and then use the outside 1/3 for a brake ducting setup.
I just hope there's no problems with the motor. It's been sitting about 2 years since we built it, but it's been inside and covered the whole time ... and full of Vaseline. I imagine it'll be fine, but if it smokes a lot or won't get good vacuum within the first few hours of starting it up we'll probably take it out and freshen up the soft seals just to be safe.
I'm sure I'll think of more after I post and re-read it all

On a side note, the guy who came down and trailered my car up to A-Spec runs a 8-second rotary Starlet in Chicago. He said his nephew (I think) was looking for a clean shell to build up. I told him I'd give somebody a sweet deal on the Purple FC if I knew the new buyer was actually going to build it. Just talked to him again today and I think he's going to buy it! It'll be sad to see it go, but nice to know it'll be in good hands.

Combination of a nice pile of parts, a good car to start with, and A-Spec putting it together ... yea it should be pretty sweet! I've only managed all these years by just not thinking about my cars. But now that the ball is rolling, I want it NOW!
Midnight madness this weekend, I have plans though
Next one looks like Oct 16th and I'll be out of town that weekend too ... damn.
I'm definately down for some serious cruising when it's back home and done next Spring, but how about we do a get together before then. Just something informal, like a BBQ at some park. Weekend of Sept 19th would probably work.

Sounds good to me. Maybe I'll get some free drinks.
