Anyone in the twin cities area good with electronics? I have a OEM Mazda compression tester. Something is wrong with it. I believe that it is the Pressure Transducer. I dont know how to test this if its in working condition or not. I went to Instrument Control Co. LLC in Saint Louis Park and not much luck there. Will pay to get fixed!

I saw the ad on CL for the two compression testers not long ago, were nice looking machines. Unfortunately I can't help with one being broken though, would be awesome to see one in action!

Yes, I picked up both of them from a tech at Morries Minnetonka for a very good price. I havent had the time to do some testing on them myself to see what works and doesnt until I get finished with school in four weeks. I got them for a great price and they look great.

3rdgen: I dont know if I'd do that unless you buy all the parts needed
. There's only one spark plug adaptor. I found a place to buy a new one but its pricy. Otherwise gotta make one.
Archaphil: I'm down for that. I haven't tested it to see if it really doesn't take compression. I was actually going to retro fit a piston compression tester to it so I could try it on my car. My brother has an RX8 but he's **** about it.

The job of the pressure transducer to to take an analog signal and convert it to a digital one. As you have found put, they are not cheap. Probably in the $100 range. I don't think adapting a conventional tester will work.
