I miss you guys...

So I'd like to come back on a non-work related trip to just hang out and flog the 'ol girl to remind her I'm not dead.

Nothing is quite set in stone, but I'm thinking maybe September sometime. Should be nice weather pretty consistently.

Perhaps a meet worthy of being called a meet can be set up. Not a "I'm coming back" meet, but a meet just to get everyone together like old times.

If not, I'm going to make a trip back in April to hit up DGRR for once in my life to meet some of the other rotorheads that I've never met (which means you guys should plan that too).

Or both.

So, how's the ninth month of this year look for you guys?

Ok...so I'll be back in town for Labor Day weekend. That's our company weekend at Great America (that Friday from 1700-2330). If anyone is interested in going up there for that, lemme know. I can only get so many tix so first come first served. $32 each incl parking and the park is just to ourselves (I think no more than 15k tickets are sold).

However, that's not car related. So...that being said, I'm itching to drive somethin' fierce. (Not like a fierce car...eh...you know what I mean).

I assume most will be off for a long weekend so if not Sat, Sun works too. We can keep an eye on the weather and see what works best.

Ok. So the flight is booked. I'll be coming into town the 1st through whatever wednesday is. Other than the GA thing, I'm open for either sat or sun weather pending. What works best for you guys?

Nothing is set in stone yet. I don't even know where I'm staying yet...maybe downtown. If not, NW burbs. Either way, I'm game for whatever. Don't want to get in with the ricer crowd to be sure. Photos in Arlington Heights is hit or miss with that crowd.

That said, maybe around the southwest burbs. Maybe Orland to start. Maybe not. My car is in Kenosha so...

Couple guys here are in the far west/nw burbs. Some in far south and Indiana. That being said, there has always been some issue with people not wanting to drive here or there. Hopefully that's not the case here.

But...Don as mentioned he'd set it up, but as far as specifics, I'm game for meeting up for some chow. Don't care if it's in Schaumburg or Orland or Chicago proper. So long as there's a decent place to park, I'm happy. If we hit a spot and get some photos downtown, that'd be great, so nothing too late there since they love to kick everyone out of everything. I haven't looked to see if there's anything else going on that weekend of note, so if there is, perhaps a tie-in into that.

 

Alrighty.... Let me think about this this weekend and put some ideas together.

 

I'm from Bolingbrook, travel time are the same for Schaumburg/Orland/Chicago, so I'm pretty much game for any local.

 

I moved to Detroit but if I'm back in the area, for sure!

 

So Sunday's out as there are family obligations now (from 3-??) though if it's something at like 9ish given most of you should be off Monday.

Haha. No. They were in my town monday night but far enough away from me to not be a pain. The only mayhemish thing I may do is get another 7.

Where will you be on Sunday? I was thinking we can all meet up in the NW suburbs maybe grab some dinner while we wait for your butt to show and then we make our way down to Chicago, cruise LSD, find a spot to photo bomb the area and then maybe to a Brew and View or something fun downtown.

Thoughts?
