Brooklyn Park, MN - October Get-together
Official Announcement
Northstar Rotary Rockets and Luther Mazda-Mitsubishi Dealership "Meet and greet".
Date/Time - 10/8/05 (Saturday) from 1-5pm
Location - Brooklyn Park
http://mitsu.lutherauto.com/Information-Directions.aspx
Contact at Luther - Chris Cabe
phone: 763-503-4695
Email: chris.cabe@lutherauto.com
Web Page - http://www.lutherauto.com/
Activities -
This event is geared as a last event of the year, pre winter hibernation get-together and as a special introduction to the club's newest sponsor; the Brookdale Luther Mazda dealership. They will be providing chips, pop, hamburgers for our enjoyment as well as a '05 RX-8 for us to get close and personal with.
Club members get 20% off all OEM parts!!! This is a great opportunity for us as club members to get parts for any winter projects with winter soon on its way.
Even if you're not or want to bring non-members, this is a great opportunity for them to pay their dues, become members and get the parts discount as well!
We can also discuss caravaning to/from the dealership for those that want to. It'd be a nice way to end the fall off with a pleasant road trip.
Thanks all and I hope to see as many of you as possible there!

Just an update/reminder to all about this event in the NW corner of the twin cities.
We are also having a give-away of items donated by club members and the dealership such as posters, stickers, books, etc. Make it worth your while to stop by.
The dealership is also providing food and refreshments so if we can't entice you with food, drink, and 20% off parts...too bad for you, more for us!

No, this is a continual discount, just like the one we have at Morries, and a number of other mazda dealerships. If you look on the "vendors" section of our club website, you'll see all the vendors that sponsor us, they are highlighted.

Every time i say I should be able to make it to one of these meets, something comes up. I have alot going on with work this year. So, put me down as a maybe. I'm going to look into joining the club either way.

I've been a VW guy my entire life as a driver, I just got an FC 2 weeks ago. It would be nice to meet some of the other rotary guys. This is the dealership that used to be a Red Lobster right?

Sorry to hear that
Did you get a S4, S5 and is it a coupe, turbo or convertable?
I'm not really sure, guess I'll see when I get there. I haven't even looked up directions yet...
It would be nice if we did a lot more events but we all seem to have pretty busy schedules so about once per month at most is what we seem to average for a group thing.
If you have any questions about your new purchase we'd all be more than happy to help out. You said you were a driver? Does that mean factory sponsored or were you private and what series were you in?

What I meant by "driver" is that my sister gave me a Jetta 3 years ago when I got my license and that's what i've been cruising around in.
It's an 86 GXL N/A. I love it as my summer car. It's also helpful to have a spare car around while I am busy fixing the Jetta. We had flash floods here during a tornado and I tried to drive the Jetta through a small lake in the street. The engine seized and blew a rod. The steering rack is completely rusted solid and the suspension seems to have replaced shock absorber oil with water. Yeah lots of work to do...

Oh..."driver", I understand.
That sounds like the laundry list of things needed to be fixed on a 7. At least an NA is a good handling car that has less issues to deal with than a turbo.

Yes they are.
It's either $20 or 25. I don't remember if we are running a membership drive right now or not.
I'd rather put you down as a yes or no as the food we have available needs to be ordered for yes people only and since this event is being sponsored from the dealership we need to have an accurate count.

Wonderful to hear.
It looks like with the addition of both of you we are about 18 strong. Girlfriends/wives, fathers/mothers, etc, are all welcome as well. If you have room, bring somebody along

Kerry came up with a caravan location and plan.
We're meeting starting noon and leaving at 12:15 sharp from the Sears in the Burnsville Mall.
Come join us and arrive in style.

I-35 to county road 42, it's on the west side of the highway and on the left. Turn left at the 1st or 2nd set of lights and you'll see it from there using the mall frontage road.
