Well, after 2.5 years of heartache and mysery Im finally buying another FC! DAMN i miss that car!!
A friend of mine stumbled across a red 86 GXL in Northern MN that looked like it needed a new home. I went up there, took a look and assessed the situation and decided to buy it for $650...paid in full by 2/15 or when ever I get the money for the bike Im selling on ebay.
It has a few rust spots around the wheel wells and a couple small ones right behind the rear tires on the quarter pannels...nothing that I can't fix. It could use a good buffing too. When the headlights are turned on, one side closes as the other opens...easy fix.
As for mechanical problems, the guy has soome kind of shop vac tube between the MAF and upper intake...need I say MASSIVE VACUUM LEAK!!! That big vacuum line that connects to the intake tube is also disconnected and pulling in air. The interior will be near mint with a vacuuming, new dummy light surround (cracked) and a passenger door handle surround. I have a friend who has all the above so if all goes well I will be driving it home. All in all, I think its a good deal for 650.
