Snow Is Awesome

Yeah? You guys are lucky to have snow! It hardly ever snows in southern MN anymore, and when it does it all melts right away!

Shoot, it's snowing it's *** off up there right now, isn't it...lucky bastages...

Id rather drive this to work than my car any day!

im not sure, but is that shop around anymore? i heard that it wasn't in business anymore, but i could've been misinformed. i'm looking to rebuild my engine as well, but i can't (or rather wouldn't) want to ship it out (hate shipping costs) somewhere that nots local where i can check on its progress in-person if i wanted to.

so, anyone know anyone/anywhere in the the metro area or at least within a 25 mile radius of the metro where i could get hooked up?

I'm thinking about having another tuning session/cookout at my place this spring. Only this time in May sometime. If anybody was at my get together last summer in July, you will remember it was about 500 degrees and nobody felt like doing too much tuning.

I think the earlier inthe season the better to help get the beasts back out of the garage and ready for the summer. I will let you guys know more later. Being a CPA, I have a few other things on my mind...like SPRING BREAK!

What? Whats this? A tuning session? Sounds like plan! I'll bring some tube steak, kraut, and beer

As for a Duluth meet, I might suggest sometime early in June maybe, and a bbq at Radial GT's house! J/k Mitch! A BBQ @ Engar park or park point would be awesome.

Any suggestions on dates or locations? I could start investigating hotel rates/reservations/and **** like that if I get enough people interested.

Hey guys, you should point out the locations you're talking about. I would be very interested in going, just need to know where in the state I'll be driving.

Sorry, I thought I was the center of the universe...maybe THAT is the reason I am still single. That and I am not ready to give up a garage stall just yet.

I am located in Saint Louis Park in the Twin Cities. I am a member of the Northstar Rotary Rockets and last years get together at my place had the clubs tools (corner scales & compression tester) at the meet. Plus I got a full range of garage warrior tools. Like I said, last year it was too damn hot to do anything other than kick tires and drink beverages.

I will post more later.

I just was working at the St. Louis Park, Batteries Plus about 2 weeks ago. I actually work in Mankato, but they sent me up there for a day.

The 1991 Convertible is still on Carsoup. I knew I wouldn't get any bites over the winter, but spring is here so hopefully she should move in the next couple months.

The 1989 GXL I got a $500 dollar deposit on it in December and the dude is supposed to have the rest by May1 or I can sell it again.

Trying to thin the herd out so I can take on another project.

I'll vouch for your rotary lovin' garage. That'd be pretty sweet if we could do another tune meet this spring, the last one was easily one of the best meets we had last year.

BTW, I cheated yesterday and took my FC out of storage since it hit 50 degrees. I can't wait until summer fully hits.

Tested by our group's compression tester, it showed 85-90 PSI. Nothing spectacular, but that car has more low end power and gets off the line better than any 2nd gen N/A I have ever owned. Don't know if anything has been done inside the motor being I bought it off of Ebay from an impound lot here in the Cities. It would be a good step into the rx-7 world for someone. Like I said, I have taken $500 towards it with the other $1,500 due by May 1 or it is up for sale again. I got one email from the dude a month ago saying he would have the rest soon. We'll see.

Hey Urizen, you keepin your eyes open for a black interior first gen at U-pull? Put your damn car back inside and wait patiently like the rest of us.

Yeah, I'll keep my eyes out, I check both location's inventory daily.

Looks like the snow is back with a vengence toight so my poor car sits cowering in the garage. I still have alot to do though. I have to replace the two plastic shells that cover the steering column, probably get a new leading coil pack, battery tie-down, a decent RPM switch for my new VDI activation scheme, and fiberglass the new heavy-duty carputer enclosure.

BTW, anyone wanna go to the auto show this Wed? (The 15th.)

http://www.twincitiesautoshow.com/

Tickets are $9.00 at the door and it's open until 10p.

If moving to Dallas area there are at least two great places for RX-7s.

Gotham Racing in Fort Worth and Steve Kan is where one of my cars are right now.

If you need any help with your car, let me know. I used to have an 87 and now I have an 85. I have a few friends in Duluth with 1st and 2nd gens.
