wiring LT10s to factory S4 fuel pump relay.

so i just put in my new lt10s and wired everything but am having trouble with the fuel pump relay.. pink and green from the microtech go to what pins on the relay? here is a picture of the factory relay

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...chmentid=35430

the issue is. the car starts up with pink to "B" and green to "E1" but then after idling fine for about 5-7 seconds, it dies as if there is no more fuel in the lines. i feel like the problem may be that the fuel pump is only being switched on when i put the key in the START position and not when i let go into the ON position. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Excuse my language,
But first thing.

**** THE FACTORY FUEL PUMP RELAY STRAIGHT OFF.

You should have recieved a new relay with your microtech.
ONLY USE THIS RELAY.

87 goes to direct power from battery
86 goes to pink wire
85 goes to green wire
30 goes to fuel pump.

DONE.

Look mate.
I have been working with microtech for years now.
The amount of cars i seen blow up becasue they have connected the factory fuel pump relay to the microtechs, i wouldnt be able to count them on my fingers.

IM not being a smart ***, im giving you the best advice you can get.

The relay you are looking for, is a normal 12V 4 pin 30 amp relay. thats it. Nothing special about it.

well, i just wired the relay and now the green light doesn't come on.. when i put the pink and green back to the way i had it before on the stock relay the green light came on. even when i crank the engine the light doesn't come one. i have the pink to 86, green to 85, 87 to the battery and 30 to the blue wire coming from the fuel pump. nothing...

Sounds like you have a wiring issue.

When your green light dosnt come on.
Get your test light out.
Unplug your microtech.
Check for power at the RED and PINK wire with the car in reds.

Tell me which one dosnt have power. Then i can go from their.

well i figured it out without that. it's the conection between the pink and the coil. that's why when i plugged the part of the pink wire for the FP up to the factory harness for 12v ign the light came on. so for the time i jumped the pink from that end into that same spot on the factory harness and then back to the relay.

so i turned the key, it started up rough and then did the same thing as before, died after a few seconds. try again about 5-6 times and same every time. it did seem to idle longer than before though, could it be that all the times it flooded could have fouled the plugs. i haven't dealt with fouled plugs for a LONG time and can't really remember the symptoms?

did i connect the relay right judging from what i posted about the way i wired it?

when it did start my wideband was reading 10, 11 at most. seemed very rich and then when the motor died instead of going full lean like it would if it ran out of fuel or was shut off on it's own it would slowly creep up from 13 ish slowly getting leaner as if there was fuel in the exhaust or something.

Thats normal for the afr meter as their are still fumes in the exhaust.
It just sounds like a tune issue your having.
Your idle map sounds too rich.
Send me your map or post it up here and i can give you a better opinion.

At least your idle map anyway.
Is your tps calibrated correctly?

i'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to check the tps. the thought crossed my mind. i don't have the correct serial cable to plug into the unit so i can't check anything yet. the unit is supposed to be brand new so there shouldn't be anything wrong with the maps i would presume. i'll be in touch once i can see things on the laptop.

You need a MICROTECH dongle to connect to the microtech.

It goes in between your usb and serial adaptor, and microtech. without it your laptop wont work.
