Microtech Tuning in MAP or TPS mode?
Tuning in MAP or TPS mode?
I guess I am just a bit confused as to exactly how the AFM, MAP sensor and TPS interact with each other. Sorry for the noobish nature of these questions.
I have an LT8 on the way, and just trying to read and understand as much as I can about tuning. I understand that the LT8 will allow me to ditch the restrictive stock AFM, and that the LT* will instead use a MAP sensor to get a signal.
My questions are:
1) On the LT8 spec sheet, it says that you can tune in MAP, TPS modes or both? How do these two interact? Can the TPS be discarded? If the TPS can be discarted along with the AFM, then is the MAP sensor tuning method the best? Should the TPS be retained eventhough it is may not be required?
2) How exactly does a MAP sensor work?
Thanks,

From what i have heard and know it is recomended to tune in map mode. In that mode the tps is used for switching between idle and load maps. Also it is used in dataloging and any other uses like for me it ties into my boost controller. The map sensor detects the pressure in the manifold.
