Tachometer reading is half than the microtech says...

My microtech is configured correctly at 4 cyl for a 2 rotor engine, the idle is 750, but my tachometer is barely registering, I have it hooked up at the stock position, what else could be the problem?

Check the wiring around the trailing coil plug. If it's in poor condition or the plug is dirty, the tack will be random...

the tach itself could also be damaged from a voltage spike if it was incorrectly wired up initially.

Okay, I found out what was wrong. Apparently my trailing coils aren't firing, so I'm only getting readings from the leading coil. I have power to the microtech, and I am doubly sure that I wired the trailing coils correctly. I checked, double checked, and triple checked them. I'm gonna see if I can get a set of working coils to see if they work.

Fixed the problem.

Someone had set the spark trigger to negative when it was supposed to be +maz.
