some more fuel pump help.

so i tried to start the car today for the first time. no go. why? cause i'm not getting any fuel pressure. none. i looked over my wiring and looked over it again. when i turn the key off the fuel pump relay clicks once, same thing when i turn it on.

i took out the pump to make sure everything looked good. everything is fine. i check to see if the ground was good, yup.. i'm getting a 12v ignition/12v from the battery at the relay.

why am i not getting any pressure? the fuel lines at the pump are still bone dry. the motor is turning over, just can't start it without any fuel...

is the relay dead? the pump?

it's a walbro..

You said "I am getting a 12v ignition/12v from the battery at the relay". If lines are bone dry, 3 things can be happening.

1. You are not getting 12v at the pump. (check that the pump is coming on. Use
a meter or listen carefully for a winding noise when it comes on) Bad relay or
broken wire.

2. The pump is bad. (Run a 12v wire from the battery to the pump while the
pump is grounded. If it doesn't come on the pump is bad)

3. The pump is sucking air and not gas. (if the pump is good, make sure the
intake side of the fuel pump is sumerged in the gas).

Something else to check........the intake and return fuel lines(going to the rails) are connected correctly.

As for the clicking noise on the relay......that usually is normal. It gets energized when current gets to it and "unenergized" whe n current is taken away.
