Removing ecu totally

I'm installing the Microtech, No real issues with what goes where. However, the fsm says the intermittant wipers are controlled by the factory ecu and the hazard and turn circuit is also. The washer and door lights are included in that. Do most simply remove just the engine harness and leave the ecu in place or completely remove it all together. The car is a 1gen gsl-se, built turbo rotary, all factory functions still in place.
