A Spec Tuning generally stocks them.

The cable is just a standard serial cable available at any computer shop. However to make it useful, you need the laptop adapter.

Analog to digital? New laptop not working?

A serial connection needs no analog to digital conversion. It's a digital signal.

New laptops might not have serial ports, but you can get a PCMCIA to serial adapter, or a simple USB to serial adapter. Most work fine, some might require some tweaking.
