Need Help!!

I just got done wiring in my LTX12 onto my '89 TII. Everything seems to be perfect EXCEPT, when I try to start the car. Every time I move the key past the ON position, my ECU shuts off. I do not know why either. My fuel pump and everything stays on. Any help would be tremendous. Thanks

Never mind.....i have diagnosed the problem and found another. The ignition wire I am drawing from is on at the ON position but as soon as I move past it, it shuts off. So now i'm asking which wire is it that i want?? like if i'm looking at the back of the IGN switch. And my other problem is that i'm leaking fuel out of one of my lines off the rail (easy fix). Anyway if any of you know which IGN wire it is that i want, please let me know. Thanks

Robert

Robert, I can't specifically tell you which wire (I'm at work and can't remember) but here's how you test...

Get a meter (or test light) and connect one lead to a ground and then turn the ignition to the 'START' position. Your goal is to find a wire that still shows 12v (or lites the test light). When you find one, let the key return to 'ON' -- your lead should still read 12v (or stay lit). You have to have 12v in both the ON AND START position -- but NOT when in OFF or ACC. That's the "key".

I know there is one there somewhere. In fact, IIRC, I think I wired mine up to the big relay -- I remember it was easy to reach from where I was coming from and had the 12v when I needed it. (vaguely remember a green wire w/ white stripe, but don't hold me to it).

BTW, you probably should not be running your starter during this test. Pull the appropriate fuses and/or disconnect the starter.
