MT4 and ignition timing

Hey guys,

got the MT4 and its all good. Having some thoughts about the stock ignition system on my 87 t2. Ive got a large extended port and have been told i need to advance the timing manualy via the CAS. Have got a timing gun etc so how much should i advance it by?

advance it to 20 degrees.
how much boost you going to run?

if your going to run 20psi put it at 5 degrees.

If your going to run 10psi leave it at 20. etc.
it all depends on boost
if its NON turbo put it at 30 degrees.

IM gona run 12-13psi, got a hybrid to4b Vtrim turbo but still running the stock top mount so cant really do to much. i was running 11psi fine before i got the motor ported, although it had a mild port before. Now im running 680cc secondarys also
20degrees advanced you recon? so 20deg ATDC or 20 deg advanced past the 1st timing mark?

20 degree past the first timing mark which is -5 degrees will put you at 15 degrees which is ideal for around 15psi.
