Ignition Help
My car is an 87 TII with jspec motor,apexi N1 single exhuast, 4 -720cc injectors,Microtech LT8X with hand controller,BnR Stage 3 turbo,Top mount intercooler.
That is my setup my question is can I hook up a jacobs off road ignition system to just the trailing side. I am having a problem with my Microtech and I am not getting spark on the trailing side. I have sent the Microtech back to Australia to be repaired once cause the previous owner screwed it up then sold it to me as a working unit. They fixed everything and sent it back. I have been across the wiring 4 or 5 times to make sure nothing is hooked up wrong. I have installed 2 prior to this one and no problems but this car and this Microtech have been nothing but problems.
I tested the power wire going to the trailing coil pack and there is power, I checked the other 2 wires that I assume are the trigger wires, I checked them with a volt meter and they both have power. I have tried 3 different coil packs so it is safe to say it is not that. I have also went over the cas and tried 2 different ones. No luck. The last thing I have left is the Jacobs ignition system.
I cannot find a wiring diagram so I did not know if you could use it on the trailing coil pack. If I can use a leading coil pack and remove the trigger and just use the coil. I don't see why it wouldn't work.
So anyone who could help I would greatly appreciate it.
If anyone has a copy of the wiring diagram for the Big blue Jacobs off road ignition system.
