Idle control options with older LT12

I'm collecting parts to finally put my LT12 in and I want a way to control the idle without all the factory crap. Is there a perfered stepper motor or something that I can plumb in to get the car to idle like a fuel injected car when cold...though holding my foot on the gas during cold mornings is fun :/
