Got a price quote.... Your opinion please!

Well, I decided to go with Microtech's LTX-8 on my FD. For now I'll keep the stock twins which will go non-seq after the install. This will be one of the first upgrades I do to my car. I am not very knowledgeable as far as ECU management(bear with an ex-piggy back guy here).

I called 2 different respectable rotary shops down here in P.R., and all gave me the same price for an installed Microtech. The will do all the wiring work, instalation, initial setup and dyno'ed all for $1,900. Is this a good deal or not? Please feel welcome to either give me the thumbs up or down. Thanks.

seems sort of high at first, BUT are they removing your twin turbos (weld pre-control/remove turbo control) to go non-sequential? if so then that price is reasonable.. plus your getting it dyno tuned...

good luck!

He said it will made non-sequential after the install so that price does not include welding the turbos.

That price does sound kinda high, but then again im not in PR and i don't know what goes on down there, but remember the old saying......you get what you pay for.
Does either of the 2 places actually have the dyno at their place or will they be taking it to a dyno. With dyno tuning included then if they do a good job then it should be worth it.

It's about $1,000 for the install and tune, and about $900 for the Microtech.

That sounds reasonable to me, but I dunno PR prices for this stuff.

What components are you getting? Obviously the ECU and coils but are you getting a hand controller or the laptop dongel? I priced out my LTX 12 install to around 1500 dollars or so if I do all the work. From there its only a tunning session away from being complete. That is with the wideband option too!

Well, I had to back out as my engine recently blew up and the cash in hand wasn't enough to do both. I assume that the laptop connection or the handheld were not included. I think I am just going to wait until i get to San Diego. And yes, FYI rotary labor is pretty cheap down here in P.R. but parts are ridiculosly overpriced. Thanks for info guys.
