Fuel pump problems. 91 FC 13BT Lt8s

I'm have a few problems with the fc. The fuel pump will go through it's priming cycle and then act as its shutting off, and then you can hear it still barely running as if its overloaded or low voltage is being sent to it. The pump will not stop running. This is all when the ignition switch is placed to on.

Second problem. I'm not getting any reading from my fuel pressure regulator gauge. I'm wondering if maybe it's completely closed brand new? I will figit with it to see if i can get pressure. I know im getting fuel because of all of those wonderful leaks i found spraying everywhere the first time we primed it. I fixed the leaks.

Third problem, and i'm pretty sure these all are hand in hand. When cranking the car over to start, the car almost catches (fresh rebuild), but all of the sudden, my 15 amp fuse that runs +12 from the battery to the fuel pump relay blows, and my circuit breaker right off the battery opens.

It has happened a few times while troubleshooting. We changed the 15 amp fuse for a 30 amp fuse (i know i was kind of skeptical), and now the 30 amp doesn't blow but the circuit breaker still pops. Keep in mind, the +12v i have going to the relay is bypassing the circuit breaker (straight from the battery terminal).

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Justin

Can you draw up a schematic of your setup and post it? From your description I couldn't figure out how things are wired. Sounds as if you are using the stock fuel pump wiring? If this is the case, then it needs to be rewired. New wiring should be run to the pump and the relay included with the Microtech used to switch it.

I figured it all out! The wiring was correct. My fuel pressure regulator fittings were incorrect and would not allow fuel to pass back to the tank. We swapped it for another regulator for troubleshooting and we got the car running. The pump was pushing fuel into a brick wall basically.

Thanks
