Fuel Pump / Priming Question
Hello all. I still have not successfully started my car so since the gas was old (a year in the tank) I decided to drain it.
So I took off the hose at the inlet of the fuel filter and put it into a drain tank. Stepped in the car and keyed on hoping to drain the fuel this way.
Well the pump pumps fuel for a few seconds then stops.
My questions to you are:
-Does the LT10 have a fuel system prime?
-Why does it stop the pump if there is no fuel pressure? or is it a timed prime?
-Is there any way to check that the pump is on once I try to get the car started?
Thanks again guys, I'm giving her a good try again on Wednesday so help would be much appreciated.

The pump primes for about 5 seconds after the ECU receives power. It will not run the pump again until it starts receiving an RPM signal. This is done for safety.
The proper way to drain the tank is to use the drain plug on the bottom or siphon from the filler neck or fuel pump flange. Don't run the pump dry and ruin it by sucking fouled fuel through...

Aaron thanks for your help, I was able to get her running by having a buddy tug me with his truck! I'm pretty amped up.
Over time I think I owe you several beers. (If you drink)
