Connection Problem!

Did anyone ever have connection issues using Vista?

My brother bought a new laptop so I downloaded the software off the Microtech website. I also bought the dongle. This laptop does not have the 9 pin COM port so I also got the 9 pin to USB converter. It still doesn't hook up!

Anything else I could try?

Searched the forum & found this link ^ leading to cheap USB cables. I'm gonna grab a better one tomorrow & give that a shot.
