Unhappy Can't calibrate Tps properly

I dont know whether it is the throttle body or the throttle cable or what but everytime I try to calibrate it the tps shoots to 99% at about half throttle. I warm it up to operating temp, let the wax pellet drop and them go to opttpscal and bring the tps down to 0%. The opttpscal is always a really high number also. It's normally between 50-70%. I have to mess with the fast idle screw and the tps screw also. Does anywone have any idea what I am doing wrong or how I can fix it.

this is correct on the Mazda TPS, they only read about 1/2 way at the most before they run out of travel,

50%-70% is fine on the tpscal, mine is at about 55%

Thanks, the fast idle cam was off adjustment, I am going to fix that tomorrow and hopefully that helps out.

Are you using the same TPS as was originally on the car? I ran into a similar problem when I put an 89 TPS on my car. No matter how I adjusted it on the manifold or played with the settings on the laptop, it never went to full throttle, I think the highest I could get it was like 60% throttle. A multimeter and about an hours of consulting an 88 and 89 FSM helped determine the full range sensor was bad.

I knew the original worked so I bent the 4 tabs that hole the sensor onto the bracket and switched the sensors. All the sensors themselves are the same it is just how they are positioned on the mounting bracket.

Everything works just fine now.
