Aux out connection for Electric fan S4

Ecaxtly how do you wire it in? I have '88 TII w/ hayden electric fan. I was origianlly using the hayden temp sensor and relay. But it was to close to the radiator and burned up.

So now I decided I would use the aux output. I ran the white wire (aux out) to the switch sensor on the relay. no worky. I tested and there was no voltage on the aux out. I looked at the wiring diagram and was confused on the -neg description of the white wire. I verfied the correct options were selected in the ECU options Aux Rpm and Auxmap are both off. I have set Auxfan at 86 to test and moved the value up and down to see if anything changed on the wire. nothing.

So now I'm back to square one.

help... I need to control my fan..

the wire is a NEG trigger, you will need to set it like the green wire on the fuel pump

put a new realy in and wire the realy like this

pin 85, white wire
pin 86, IGN +
pin 30, battery POS
pin 87, to POS fan wire

OK. I think I was thinking it was a pos+ trigger. I thought I tested for a ground though by moving the value up and below the activation point with no difference.

Thanks for the response. I will try it. I'm getting anxious. I had the car at my local vendor to get tuned and they never got around to it and I just ended up getting it back. All they did was change the values so it wouldn't idle.

Have you had any experience with the LT12/8 on the new model 02+ WRX?

Yep it is the neg trigger, the voltage only changes a little when it is triggered, you may not even see it with some test lights,

i have had a bit to do with the WRX's, i tuned one 2 nights back, had some spark plug problems, they couldnt burn the fuel and it was blowing out the spark at anything over 10psi,

tuned it up to 9psi and it made 175hp at all 4 wheels, which is the same a stock sti makes on 18psi,

this setup is a STI V2 RA motor, tdo5 turbo, big front mount and a LTX8,

OK so I hooked up, and now I can here the relay fluttering. It never fully triggers either way. any ideas?

Its a standard 30amp 12V relay.

Well I tried another new relay and it worked. But the relay is still vibrating and making a buzzing sound. Really wierd. I've never seen a relay do that.
