2 step feature w/wideband

Has anybody damaged there o2 sensor when using there 2 step feature?.
I was watching Innovate's website video, and said that an engine running too rich can damage the o2 sensor. My guess when the 2 step is triggerd causing the ignition to misfire, injectors are still pulsing causing gas to exit out of the exhaust.
Can anybody give me there 2 cents here?. Thanks in advance..

you shouldnt have a problem, because your not running excessively rich for too long.
