2 bar = 24psi right? 1 bar = 14psi..
not sure how you'd change it out since the map sensor is internal part of the unit. You actually run a line into the car and connect it to the microtech.

When you talk about "X bar MAP sensor", you're talking about units of barometric pressure at sea level from absolute zero. That means that a 1 bar MAP sensor reads from pure vacuum to atmospheric pressure. A two-bar reads from pure vacuum to 14.2 psig. A three bar, etc.

The "2 bar" sensor in the LT actually reads up to 20 psig, and the 3 bar to 30 psig. It's just easier to think of it in terms of bar.

you can run more than 20psi on the map sensor but the ecu only has maps to 20psi,
i know of cars running 30psi with the standard map sensor

maps for 20psi? what does that suppose to mean?

do you mean when tuning with vac/boost the boost goes only up to 20? i don't get it, i'm kinda lost. i would like to run about 25 psi because that's a good efficiency spot for t04's, but i don't know i don't want to blow anythign up, i havn't blown any motors yet - hopfully not for a long time!

you will have to use the 20psi map and just run it a little rich in the 20-25 psi mark,

I got the 3 bar because it's external, meaning if it ever goes bad I just go to billybob chevrolet and buy a new one and don't have to send my whole computer back to Australia.

so if i tune this on the dyno, i just tune it accordingly to wide band right? same style as tunning (ie like i will know when i'm tunning that i need to run more fuel right?)

Yes that is correct, just make sure it is right at 25 psi and you will be fine, just a little rich between 20-23psi

So the map sensor isn't neccessary if not running a turbo?

Well, the unit comes with a map sensor anyway - it's integrated into the actual ECU. You can probably tune it with the MAP forever at 00"Hg (i.e. capped or left open), but it's best used for some things like throttle pumps, etc. Of course, there's no reason to get the external 3Bar MAP if you're N/A.

I should add that one of the GB buyers is N/A, and I'll be running mine N/A for a little while as I build my turbo setup. It's certainly possible; I would even say it's preferable to the usual piggyback route, as the capability is there to add a turbo at a later time with minimal retuning, to say nothing of the AFM elimination and the benefits that a real standalone brings!

Well what do you mean? Assuming all you did was remove the turbo, you could most likely just run off the N/A portion of your already-tuned map, maybe with just a general trim adjustment to richen things up (removing the turbo will increase VE slightly). It'd be very easy to do.

Hope that answers your question.
